Tim and Ida
a hip hop-musical from tree theatre

A love story for all ages.  Seriously, Tim is 27.  Ida is 83.
Jealousy, murder and betrayal.
Just another day at Shady Pines Nursing Home.
Oh, did we mention the rapping doctors?
Written and performed by Bryan Grossbauer and Mike Papaleo

Vying for the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it award this week is Tim & Ida, a musical comedy created and performed by Bryan Grossbauer and Mike Papaleo, aka the company Tree Theatre. The two bring to life a varied assortment of characters, the denizens of the Shady Pines Nursing Home; it’s “a love story for all ages” because the title pair are age 27 and 83, respectively. And if you’re not drawn to it for that Harold and Maude-ishness, consider going for the rapping doctors.

If "Harold and Maude" were performed by two improv comedians channeling the Beastie Boys, the result might look a lot like "Tim & Ida: A Love Story."  Mike Papaleo and Bryan Grossbauer present this titular May-December romance between a twenty something stoner and his arthritic paramour as a tale told by Drs. Finkelstein and Samuelson, two nursing-home medics who supply Greek-chorus-style commentary in the form of goofball raps.  If you've been looping "The Chronic (WHAT) cles of Narnia" on your video iPod lately, you'll crack up at this cleverly written live show.
